Our Story
It all started back in the 50’s in my mom’s kitchen.
Dolores Textor, who was known as Lady, took a recipe that she found in the Hammond Times, made it her own, and started making caramel corn for her family and friends for the holidays. Lady’s secret recipe was handed down to her daughters and granddaughter, and during the summer of 2013 we launched Lady’s Caramel Corn at the Griffith Central Market.
Lady’s Caramel Corn was a big hit at the market and we were inspired to expand our offerings to cheese corn, hand-crafted dipped pretzels, and cookies.
In the fall of 2013 we opened a tiny store front in downtown Griffith, Indiana, the town that came to the tracks. We quickly outgrew this space and in 2016 relocated to a new, larger location just down the street. In 2024 we were presented with an incredible opportunity – to buy the historic G & G Hobby Shop building and we are now living the dream!
Lady’s Gourmet Popcorn is a woman owned family business dedicated to hand crafting the most delicious popcorn you’ve ever had. We use real ingredients: butter, sugar, pure vanilla and no preservatives.
